Science Experiments

Last night at dinner, Aiden was claiming he was still hungry after eating all of his dinner. When he told us that he thought his stomach was growling, we explained that sometimes you can hear your stomach digesting food, and it might sound the same as it does when you're hungry. That lead to me getting out some baking soda and lemon juice to show the boys how our stomach works to break down food. Aiden and Seth were really excited about watching science, so Dan found directions online for an experiment to do with household products.
Even though the boys thought it smelled really bad, they got a kick out of watching the two mixtures combine and bubble over in the sink.
Tonight, we tried a different (much messier) experiment when Dan brought home a can of Diet Coke and a package of Mentos. Perhaps we have budding scientists in our household!
