(Assumed) First

This past weekend, Alvana came up to visit from New Jersey (while her husband, David, stayed there and worked on remodeling their bathroom - what a great guy!). On Saturday afternoon, Dan, Alvana and I took the boys to the park because it was another hot mid-80-degree day in Marion. After the boys got tired, we decided to drive to the next town over to our favorite ice cream place, Chill & Grill. We ordered some and decided to let Aiden and Seth have their first try of everyone's favorite treat in the dairy food group. Since Alvana had had her camera, I even had her take pictures to document the exciting first. Later that evening, when we were eating dinner with Mom & Dad Loucks, we told them that we'd taken the boys to Chill & Grill and they'd had ice cream for the first time. Dad looked at Mom as he was asking me, "So that was their first ice cream?" And then the rest of the story came out! We had left the boys with Mom and Dad twice this past week while we were in Elmira looking at houses. On Thursday, they had been out running errands and had decided to stop at Chill & Grill themselves and gave each of the boys a taste of soft ice cream. They didn't think they were feeding Seth and Aiden their first ice cream, and so they didn't even mention it when we got home that evening. It was only when I was telling them about the boys eating ice cream for the first time that they realized it had been a big deal. Of course, Dan and I had to give them a hard time for that... but all in good fun!
