On a sad note, today when I told the boys that we had to go grocery shopping, they heard the word "shop" instead of shopping. Their eyes lit up and they both started saying, "boom, boom" and pretending that they were hammering. What a disappointment they had when our ride in the car ended at the local Wegmans instead of Grandpa's shop!

Boom Boom
This past weekend, while we were up in Marion visiting with Grandma & Grandpa Loucks, Dan and his dad took the boys out to Dad's shop to give them their first experience with pounding nails. They used real hammers and 6-inch nails which they pounded into thick foam. They started out kneeling, but didn't have the right angle...
so a crate was tipped up on its side to make a work table for the boys.

Grandpa loved having the boys out in the shop with him, and they loved exploring everything when they were done hammering.
They even showed Grandpa their stretches... which progressed to falling on the floor and then rolling around in the sawdust!

After they were sufficiently dirty, Grandpa used the air compressor to blow the sawdust off of them before they went back inside (which brought a lot of giggles).
The following day, Aiden started saying the word "shop" and both the boys were asking to go out and hammer again by pounding one fist into their open palm and saying, "boom, boom". They had such a great time with Grandpa and his tools!
