On Thursday, November 20th, Aiden and Seth turned 2. It was just the four of us here that evening (Alvana and David came up the following day to spend the weekend with us, so we celebrated the boys' birthday again on Friday.), but I made chocolate cupcakes with frosting, and the boys got to open their presents from Dan and I. They were both really excited about the candles and blew them out without much help.
Aiden liked his cake and ate most of it until he got some frosting stuck to the roof of his mouth, which made him understandably upset since he couldn't get it out of his mouth then. After that, he didn't want anything to do with the remaining cupcake pieces and picked each one up and put it at the back of his tray while saying, "Nope," each time he put a piece down.
Seth was our typical OCD child and didn't want to get his hands messy by touching the frosting.
So after he licked most of the frosting off, he was happy to share some cupcake with Daddy.
The boys opened their presents from us after dinner. They definitely weren't too excited about their new shirts (those got tossed on the floor upon opening), but they were happy about their new coloring books with the Color Wonder markers and the small footballs that they each got.
