Muddy Buddies

This week, we've been taking advantage of the unseasonably warm weather, as I know it will most likely be the last we'll see for a while. The kids were all in the kiddie pool on Tuesday, and the boys were in again yesterday while Cora was napping. Aiden and Seth were also playing with the hose quite a bit yesterday afternoon. They sprayed the ground enough in one area to clear away the moss there and leave a huge muddy spot. They played there for a while, using that slippery decline like a slip-n-slide. And then they started putting their hands in the mud...

Seeing a chance for the boys to embrace the messy (which I usually try to steer clear of!), I suggested to Aiden that he "paint" his belly with the mud. He tackled that mission quite thoroughly! Then he rinsed off in the pool and was thrilled with the muddy water he created. Chocolate syrup water, is what the boys call it.

Seth was a little more timid with the mud...
but he did get a lot more dirty than he usually allows himself to be.

I can't wait to see if Aiden and Seth will remember this muddy adventure next summer when the kiddie pool is out again! They had so much fun with it!
