More Reading

It amazes me how much the boys are reading these days!  The following picture is the reading lesson they had today.  They were a little discouraged to see it was four paragraphs long, but they both did really well.  They have learned a lot the last six weeks about vowel combinations, which can get confusing.  (Sometimes 'ea' is a long-e sound, sometimes it's a long-a sound, not to mention the other tricky vowel combinations that they've learned, like 'ey', 'ie', 'ow' and 'oi.')  The lessons over the next six weeks include silent letters and how vowels change when followed by 'r'.  Probably after that we'll end for our summer break.  I'm so excited about how much more Seth and Aiden will be able to read by the time they're done with pre-school!
