Speckles

Earlier this week, Mikiah had one or two spots that looked like bug bites.  The next day, he had a few more, and I was getting very creeped out about what might be biting him.  By the third morning, he was covered... and we finally figured out that it was chicken pox.  (How did our parents figure out these things without the internet?!)
On the positive side, Mikiah is too young to really be able to scratch much, so the scars shouldn't be too bad.  However, he's also too young to be able to understand why he feels so itchy, so shortened naps and crabbiness have been his way to express how uncomfortable he is.
Baths are the only thing that have helped much, so he's been taking a lot.
Most of his spots seemed to have stopped spreading, so we may only be quarantined for a few more days.  Although being vaccinated doesn't always help with the spread of chicken pox, the older kids all got the vaccine (or at least, the first round of the vaccine), so I'm not expecting them to get it.  I wouldn't mind them getting it... except for how busy our next few weeks are supposed to be!
