Yesterday, the kids and I took a trip out to Allegany State Park. One of my dear friends, Carla, was there from Ohio camping with her boys and her in-laws. Even though it was a four-hour round trip, it was well worth it to visit with Carla, especially since I hadn't seen her in over a year.

Aiden and Seth played in the creek with Trey when we first got there while Carla finished up some laundry. Then we all went back to the cabin where they've been staying this week. After lunch, we went outside while Cora took a little nap in the cabin. Carla's father-in-law was happy to whittle some walking sticks for Aiden and Seth, as we sat by the fire and made s'mores for dessert.

Trey, Roman, Aiden and Seth played with the bikes that Carla's boys had brought, walked in the woods and climbed around on the big rock near the cabin.

Roman and Trey both got to hold Cora and were very gentle with her. She, of course, loved the attention. What sweet boys Trey and Roman are!

Even though our time at Allegany was only slightly longer than our time on the road, I was so happy to have spent the day catching up with Carla and seeing her boys! Hopefully next time will be a longer visit!
