A few days ago, several of the MOPS moms met again at Farmland Animal Park, which is about a half hour from our house. (We had been there before, a few weeks before Cora was born, but Aiden and Seth didn't really remember it.) We all met at the picnic area to begin with... and it was pretty tough dragging the boys away from the sandbox!
There were a few baby animals (chicks, geese and bunnies) near the play area and one of the moms was able to catch a baby chick. Aiden was very happy to get to pet it!
Cora was excited to go on the tire swing. (Swinging is her favorite thing to do at every park we visit.)
After about a half hour of letting the kids play and check out the baby animals, we started on our walk around 18-acre park. There were lots of animals to see, and they were all interested in us... or rather, in the bags of corn that some of the moms had bought and that the kids were very generously handing out.

Typical Cora (who takes after her brothers in this regard) was thrilled with the gravel path and kept picking up rocks to show to me.

I realized when we got home that I had very few pictures of Seth. Most of the time he was running on ahead with some of the other older kids. Aiden, my animal lover, was spending time with every animal that approached him. He was doing his best to find corn that had been dropped, but when he couldn't find any, he was picking grass to fed to the goats...
and the big draft horse.

Cora did well with the animals. She didn't fed any of them, but she pet some of them and was making animal sounds for the donkey, sheep, pigs and horses.
The slide halfway through the park was a big hit for the kids too. Cora climbed all the way up by herself, but then refused to go down - twice. In the below picture, Seth was trying to coax her down, and she was yelling at him because he was pushing her. The first time she got all the way up there, Seth sat down behind her and went down with her. The next time, I had to climb over a few kids to get to her because she wasn't going to go with Seth again. After that, I kept her away from the slide. (It's much easier to deal with her changing her mind about the slide when we're at the park by ourselves than when there are a dozen other kids around!)

After finishing our walk, we all enjoyed a picnic lunch together. Seth and Aiden rushed through their meal in order to get back to the sandbox. They were sad when we had to leave, and there has been a lot of talk about going back there again... or getting our own sand digger for them to play on. I was so thankful that it was cooler than it had been earlier in the week. All 6 moms and 15 kids had a great morning together!
