Lone Star State Vacation

This past Thursday, Dan, Cora and I flew down to Texas to visit our friends where we used to live. (It's hard to believe it'll be two years this weekend since we moved!) Even though we had really early flights both to Texas and back, Cora did extremely well on the plane rides and slept about 75% of the time we were in the air. And when she was awake, she was only making happy noises. We had a lot of complements about what an easy-going baby she is!
We stayed with our close friends, Kim and Jonathan, while we were in Texas. We had a great time catching up with them and relaxing (since Aiden and Seth were with Grandpa & Grandma, and Dan and I were experiencing what it feels like to have just one baby - definitely a lot easier!). Their girls, Cassidy and Macey, adored Cora and were often bringing her toys, talking to her and asking to hold her.
On Saturday afternoon, we visited with our other close friends, Matt and Tracy. After attending our church on Sunday morning (and getting to see a lot more friends there!) a bunch of us went to The Salt Lick for lunch. Our friends embarrassed me by singing happy birthday and having me blow out the candles, but it was worth it for the delicious carrot cake.
On the way back from the restaurant, we stopped next to the church to get some pictures in the bluebonnets.
Cora seemed a little hesitant at first...
but then she was interested in checking out the flowers, at least for a few minutes.
However, she quickly decided that she would much rather be napping than posing for us in the bluebonnets!
We left Texas early Monday morning, picked up Aiden, Seth and Zion at Grandma & Grandpa's and were home by late afternoon. (Thankfully, Seth and Aiden had had a wonderful time with their grandparents while we were gone.) It was a great vacation for Dan and I, but we are glad to be home!

I love the first picture of Cora in the bluebonnets! It's great! You need to print an 8x10 and frame it!
