On Saturday, we went to the Cleveland Zoo with both the Brown's and my college roommate, Stephanie Carrell, and her family. (Stephanie, Tim and their two girls - the same ages as our boys and Cora - live just a few towns away from where the Brown's live. Since I hadn't seen Stephanie in three years, it was great to be able to visit with her family as well!) We made quite a procession with six adults, two pre-teen/teenagers, and seven children from the age seven down to two and a half!
The big lion was awake when we went to see him,
and we stood watching him for a few minutes while the kids practiced their roars.
The boys did great throughout the day,
but after we had our picnic lunch, Cora started getting pretty sleepy.
The Carrell's had to leave around 2pm, but we and the Brown's stopped in the rain forest building on our way out of the zoo.
That evening, the Carrell's came over for dinner. Unfortunately, Tim was on call and they couldn't stay for s'mores.
While the other kids had two or three s'mores, Cora worked her way through one. Most of the time, she was digging the chocolate and marshmallow center out and licking it off her fingers. What a messy girl!
