A few weeks ago, Dan attended a three-day trade show in Las Vegas with two other co-workers. Although Dan has been traveling more since his position at work changed in January, this was only the third time he'd been gone for longer than two nights. Even better, I got to go with him this time! The kids had a great time with Grandma & Grandpa for the five days we were gone and it was once again wonderful to know that they were having a great time while we were away.
We arrived in Las Vegas late on Sunday evening and were happy to find out that our room in the Bellagio was overlooking their famous fountains.

During the day on Monday through Wednesday, Dan was busy with the trade show... and I spent my time relaxing by the pool and catching up on my reading.

On Monday afternoon, we walked down the strip some, going in a few of the other hotels...
and seeing the lions at the MGM Grand before having a delicious (and also local & organic!) steak dinner at Craftsteak.

On Tuesday evening, there was a work dinner to go to where we listened to a speech titled the Seven Revolutions by the Center for Strategic & International Studies. It was another delicious dinner with an interesting topic of conversation. The dinner was held at Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health... definitely a one-of-a-kind building!
On Wednesday evening, we went to see Mystere, one of the seven Cirque du Soleil shows in Las Vegas. Afterward, we walked around some more, going in several other hotel/casinos to see what they looked like. I really liked staying at the Bellagio, but the Venetian was pretty amazing on the inside as well with an indoor waterfall, a curved escalator and lots of art and an Venice-like river on the second floor, complete with gondola rides.
